1978 COLORSOUND OVERDRIVER PEDAL! Rare Variety Overdriver! NO RESERVE and FREE SHIPPING! ITEM: For your consideration is this 1978 Colorsound Overdriver pedal. Most enthusiasts are familiar with the earlier skinny grey box Colorsound Overdriver used by Jeff Beck and other famous guitarists, but this slightly later wide box version is just as good. With (3) BC547 silicon transistors, (3) "tropical fish" capacitors, and other similar resistors, pots, and capacitors, this version sounds very similar to the highly coveted narrow box Overdriver. This pedal features (3) BC547 transistors which are almost identical sounding to the BC447B transistors commonly found in the earlier Overdrivers. Other components in this pedal are from 1974, which would be concurrent with components found in original skinny Overdrivers. This pedal sounds absolutely amazing with loads of speaker fatiguing bass and beautiful enveloping textured gain. It made a Tele and Princeton Reverb sound like a Les Paul through an 18 watt Marshall! Created to give guitarists a natural boost, it does just that, but turned full-up it turns almost any amp into a full stack on the brink of monstrous fuzz! This pedal is in perfect working condition, but has some cosmetic damage - velcro residue on the back from a pedal board, and is missing the battery cover. This pedal was modified with an extra tone control uninvasively soldered to the On/Off switch which allows you to sculpt and refine the sometimes over-bearing amount of bass innate to the schematic design. Three controls - Bass, Treble and Drive. Interestingly, this pedal comes in the grey hammerite case, but isn't screen-printed like it's predecessor.
