What the crap was the point of this video???
Ха ха! Ван Хален!
actually the two effects are incredibly similar in function but flange affects more of the background-type sounds u make while phaser is slightly more fore-ground or in-yo-face! i love ‘em both.
A flanger is a type of phaser, that moves the wave out of phase with itself using a variable time delay.
hey wat tuning is ur guitar in
yeah ok man….but phaser became very famous with Gilmour’s work on Dark side of the Moon
it is… its just a more vicious and faster flanger
sounds like the flanger
try it out
with a clean amp channel, it won’t make much difference.
Where should I put a phaser, before the amp? Or into the FX Loop with Delay and Reverb?
Thanx
That’s a Peavey XXL, not a JSX. The XXL was made as a solid-state counterpart to the XXX.
i think when you use any other effects then with distortion the signal should be distorted first before it runs though the other effects. am i right?
That’s a Fender Strat with 2 humbucking pickups.
Guaranteed that’s pedal distortion. Anyone using the amount of effects he is (look at that pedal board!) wants to be able to switch from clean to distortion, as well as adjust the distortion, from the board.
Plus, with effects like Phaser and Flanger it’s important to be able to run the effect into the amp before the distortion.
It’s the amp he’s using. It’s a Peavey JSX Joe Satriani tube head. They’re very high gain amps
fender strat
what kind of guitar is he playing
Take your amp,
set it on the dirty (overdrive) channel,
turn the GAIN to 8, the VOLUME to 2, the TREBLE to 7, the MID to 1, the BASS to 8
And then play around with it. Tweak it to suit whatever sound you want.
he says DRY dude…!! no delays in the begining/////
How do you get such a saturated distortion sound at the beginning of the video? Are you using amp distortion or a pedal? Any tips for the distortion sound? Delay?? Reverb? Anything like that?
tht was awesome when he did the eddie van halen scratchin thing
wah wah and funk are totally different.
Wah – Envelope
Phase – Modulation
