This No-Reserve auction includes the effect pedal, original owner's manual, and original dedicated power supply (which is different than a standard Boss 9-V PSA adaptor) This unit is in excellent cosmetic and working condition, with very few visible scuffs. I tested the unit again before listing it, and it is in perfect working order. This unit is quite versatile, allowing you to manipulate vocals and any other sound source. The mix control allows you to hear only the effected signal, the dry signal, or any variation of the two to create harmonies or sick, fixed-interval vocal effects. The "robot" switch creates old-school DJ/HipHop, vocoder/ Synth-style robotic vocal effects. There are RCA and 1/4-inch lines out, an adjustable input level knob, 4 programmable presets, peak meter, and a jack for external foot switch. This pedal has been used by countless DJ's and does a remarkable job of seamlessly changing the gender of a voice or simply 'thickening up' and adding character to a voice. This means that raising the pitch produces a “chipmunk voice,” as if the vocal cords had become smaller. Conversely, lowering the pitch produces a “giant voice,” as if the vocal cords had become larger. The VT-1 controls basic pitch and formants independently, allowing a variety of voice characters (characteristic types of voice) to be created. The VT-1 is a unique device designed for altering and effecting the human voice. It provides everything from voice "thickening" to a full +/-1 octave pitch shift, allowing users to convincingly change their vocal gender. Unlike conventional pitch shifters, the VT-1 affords separate control of pitch and formant, so the user's voice can be altered without the "chipmunk" effect. FORMANT Slider Formants are fixed frequency regions of emphasis that are an important elements in determining how a voice sounds. This slider adjusts the formants. Raising the slider produces a voice character that sounds as if the vocal cords have become ‘smaller.’ Lowering the slider produces a voice character that sounds as if the vocal cords have become ‘larger.’ MIX BALANCE Slider This slider adjusts the volume balance between the generated voice character and the original input sound. As the slider is raised (toward the EFFECT end of the scale), the generated voice character will become louder. PITCH Slider This slider adjusts the pitch of the voice character. The pitch can be adjusted over a range of +/- one octave. Special effects using the ROBOT button The ROBOT button fixes the vocal pitch to produce a special effect like that of a robot speaking.
