Analogman King of Tone v4 (Analog Man KOT version 4) Picture(s) and Description:

ANALOGMAN KOT v4 First, let me start by saying that I am offering this pedal with NO RESERVE and FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING. Or, if you are a local bidder and you want to pick the pedal up and pay cash, I will knock $10 off of your winning bid. Up for bids is an Analogman King of Tone (KOT) version 4 (v4) Overdrive, Distortion, AND Clean Boost Pedal. It’s basically 3 ultra hi-end, boutique, true-bypass pedals in one. This auction includes the KOT pedal, original box, canvas pedal bag, sticker, business card, signed packing slip, invoice, instructions: all of which will be shipped in the same exact USPS box that Analog Mike originally used to ship the pedal to me. There’s really no difference between what you’ll get and getting a brand new pedal. The battery will not be included for safety concerns and at my discretion I may “black-out” some of my sensitive info on the packing slips or invoice (CC #, address, etc.) If you’re looking at this you probably know what this pedal is all about, but if not, please read on for an explanation of what separates Analogman from the other hi-end pedal builders… First, this pedal is amazing for recording….unbelievably quiet for an OD/Dist pedal. I think that’s what really sets this pedal apart. There are many high-quality pedals available for live playing and they will all get the job done, but in the studio is where you can separate the true contenders from the pretenders, and this pedal stands on its own. Your true tone comes through with no noise or coloration. The other area where this pedal excels and where most all other “hi-end” pedals fail is at low volumes. This pedal truly gives your amp a sweet and singing tone even when you’re not pushing either the pre or power amp sections. Many pedals claim to do this but a slim few deliver, and the Analogman KOT delivers it all. Your amp sounds full and has tons of sustain even at bedroom volumes. I am not a pedal scalper and I have no use for people who buy hard-to-find pedals just to turn a profit on them. It kills me to sell this pedal after I waited over a year and a half (that’s right, if you order one right now, you might have it by June of 2011.) BUT, I am going back to school for my Master’s in January and who knew that college books now cost over $250 each? I have got to sell some stuff to fund my education and this is hitting the market because my Boogie has a dirty channel that I always liked and I have a cheap clean boost pedal that I use with my acoustic. So while neither even comes close to taking the place of the KOT, I just have to suffer it out for now. Now about the pedal. The Clean Boost is just that, a clean boost, but it gets LOUD….L-O-U-D, LOUD. The pedal came set-up with the Clean Boost on the right channel and I messed around with it like that, but like I said I have an Xotic effects RC boost which worked for me and I switched the pedal so that the OD was on the right channel. I really, really, really like the OD. It’s my favorite feature of the pedal and my favorite OD pedal ever, bar none. The tone that it nails with my Les Paul is that of the early Black Crowes. If you listen to their first 3 albums, they were no slouches when it came to tone or heavy guitar tones (Think Twice as Hard type songs) and that’ll give you a good idea of the OD. Also, definitely hints of Angus, Frehley, Page, etc. The OD has plenty of grit and drive but your guitar and amp’s tone is completely retained and never gets muddy or nasally sounding. The tone knob helps to either add low-end thwack for riffs or turn up the tone for a searing lead tone to cut through the mix. The volume knob gives you plenty of juice (more than the old TS-808’s dream of.) The Distortion side has caused great controversy. Some seem to feel that it’s not that good, but personally I believe one person wrote that and then everyone read it and believed it and now it’s the gospel truth. Don’t believe the hype, the Distortion side screams. I run the Distortion on the left side (and that’s how it’ll be set-up when you receive it) after the OD. To me the distortion is harmonically rich, very satisfying, and sounds like a Distortion pedal should. The only thing that I think people notice is that the Distortion channel doesn’t get as loud as the OD. So, if someone has the OD volume on 3 o’clock and the Distortion volume on 3 also; if you toggle between the 2, the Distortion won’t be as loud. Naturally if it’s not as loud people think it’s not as good, but all you have to do is turn the Distortion up to get the levels equal on the 2 channels and it sounds excellent and very different than the OD in a side-by-side comparison. I love the Distortion for hair metal stuff (Poison, GNR, Dokken.) It’s a great, great pedal. And then if you’re running the Distortion pedal you can just kick on the OD for a smoking lead tone. This pedal has seen relatively little use and it’s always been home use. I’ve never gigged with it. It has never had Velcro attached; all the original parts are intact. The pedal functions perfectly. If I had to estimate, I’d say that the pedal been in my signal chain for 25 hours; of which it’s been in use for 10 hours max. For all intents and purposes it’s brand new. If you’re serious about bidding on this pedal I suggest that you check out Analogman’s site for descriptions, reviews, sound clips, etc, etc: http://www.analogman.com/kingtone.htm I would also highly suggest you check-out what other users and players just like yourself have to say about this pedal. http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Effects/product/Analog+Man/King+of+Tone/10/1 http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Effects/product/Analogman/King+of+Tone/10/1 This pedal is like new. I shot all pics with an extremely hot flash so any little things would show up. Check the pics closely, no nicks, dings, scratches whatsoever. I only ever used the pedal on carpet. I am an 11 year member with 100% positive feedback. You can bid with confidence that this item is as-described if not better. I will not end the auction early and I do not have a Buy it Now price. I will let the auction run its course and let the high-bidder claim their pedal. The item will ship within 24 hours of me receiving your payment and you will then be provided with the tracking number. Free shipping only applies to UPS or USPS shipments (my choice.) The winning bidder can choose an alternate shipping method however they will be responsible for the cost of shipping. I ACCEPT PAYPAL. I will accept cash as a payment if the high-bidder chooses to pick the amp up. I also will accept US PO.STAL MO’s. Ask questions prior to bidding. GOOD LUCK.
